Drive the Peugeot 206GTI Coupe Cabriolet

The Peugeot 206 Coupe Cabriolet is stunning in looks & comes with 2 engines;the 1.6 litre,108 bhp(brake horse power) & the 2.0 litre,136bhp engines.Both engines have varying performance indicators;

The Volkswagen VWD1is poised to turn the heat on BMW,Jaguar & Mercedes.It benefits from VW's DL51 large-car platform.It boasts a lightweight aluminium spaceframe design with a new air suspension system to provide ride comfort & road handling on par with the Mercedes S-Class.

0-62mph in 11.2 secs for the 1.6 litre & 9.3 secs for the 2.0 litre with maximum speeds been pegged at 120mph for the former & 127 mph for the latter.
Looks
The front end comes with the headlamps that are now familiar with most Peugeot models.It also has twin bonnet air- vents& an aluminium fuel-filler.It has a folding metal roof & unlike that of the Mercedes-Benz SLK has to be undone from the A-pillars by 2 finger-light clips.Apart from that though the time to undo those finger light-clips is negligible & should not in anyway detract from its ownership.
Ergonomics
The 2.0 litre comes with climate control air-conditioning as well as a CD-player as standard.The gear change is good for a front wheel drive car though not as well knit together like that of the rear-wheel Mazda MX-5.
Peugeot has also fitted an Anti-Lock Brake system as standard on both models together with Electronic Brake Distribution.

It takes strong styling cues from the Audi A6 & VW Passat.

It is fronted by a Passat-like grille flanked by twin Xenon head-lamp units set deep behind clear glass covers.
The lipped front air intake edges flare across the bonnet & join the domed A-pillar at the base of the windscreen.Also beneath the flared wheel arches sit huge 19 inch alloy wheels.A bonnet mounted camera linked to a console-mounted colour monitor provides the driver with a rearward view for reversing.
This car comes with 3 engines;the 5.0 litre twin turbo V10 direct injection diesel,5.6 litre 415 bhp W12 petrol unit & a 3.7 litre W10 petrol.
VW boss Dr. Ferdinand Piech believes that the D1 will put unprecedented pressure on its German & British rivals.

Prices start from £13,995 to £15,995 estimated.

As at time of filing story, the Peugeot Dealership in Ghana, SCOA MOTORS had filed for Bankruptcy and Peugeot was looking for a new dealership in Ghana.
