You Can Stay Alive by Pastor Panin Adusa-Amankwa

All over the world today, many people have been caught up in various dying situations. People are dying prematurely, visions & goals are been aborted, families are breaking apart, hope in life is failing leading to suicide, people are compromising the faith & perpetually indulging in sin, people are living careless lives resulting in HIV/AIDS infections, prostitution & other vices.These are as a result of giving up in life & not valuing life.A man is a tripartite being made up of spirit, soul & body.The human being came alive in order to function on earth as a result of the spirit breathed into the body.If the spirit of a man leaves the body it would no more be alive & functionable.The spirit influences the soul which contains the desires of humans, his/her will, intellect & feelings.The spirit is is the means by which the human being receives strenght & life from God.

It is alive when it receives from God but dead when it does not receive from God.In Genesis 2:17 & 3 we see that humans sinned against God & from thence died spiritually.From that time humans lived for themselves which was contrary to God's desire for their lives.They had lost contact with God so could not live to please HIM. God however rectified the situation by sending HIS son Jesus Christ to become a ransom for all men so that our belief in HIM as the saviour & the only way to the father restored our spiritual life & our contact with HIM. In John 3 we are told about being born of the Spirit.

Humans die physically when their spirit leaves the body, therefore when the spirit is dead, loosing contact from the source of life, physical death is inevitable.Humans must therefore hunger for what would keep their spirits constantly alive & that is hunger for the spiritual bread, the 'bread from heaven'.
The 'bread of heaven' was first referred to by the Israelites as manna(Exodus 16).It was also called the 'bread of angels' in Psalm 78:24-25.
In Deuteronomy 8:3 the Israelites ate it & they did not grow weary in the wilderness nor did their garments wear out or feet sweat.Elijah when running away from Jezebel wanted to die but God sent an angel his way who gave him water & bread & he was revitalised & accomplished his final purpose before being translated into heaven without dying physically.

The manna was a shadow of the real 'bread of heaven' which is spiritual & not physical. In Deuteronomy 8:3 the people ate physical bread but Moses said 'Man should not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.' The Word of God is in two dimensions;firstly we have the 'Logos' which is the entire written Word of God from Genesis to Revelation.The second is the 'Rhema' which is a specific word from God for a specific person in a specific situation.The specific word is gotten out of the 'Logos'.The 'Rhema' or 'bread of heaven' is what keeps a human being continuosly alive.
Jesus in John 6 told the multitude that followed HIM after he had fed them miraculously that they should seek for the bread that gave eternal life & not the physical bread which results in only physical life which would eventually be terminated.(John 6:25-29).
The reason the Israelites who came out of the wilderness at age 20 & above eventually died in the wilderness except Caleb & Joshua was because they only ate the manna but did not receive the spiritual aspect which was implied in the miraculous provision that 'God can do everything impossible to humans'.Caleb & Joshua got it so they never doubted God even against the sons of Anak who were giants.(Numbers 13)
The likes of Elijah, David, Shadrach, Mesach, Abednego, Paul just to name a few believed God in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds because they knew HIS WORD to be ye & amen.
A Man of God faced with turbulence in a plane continued to read a book completely unperturbed & even asked a frightened passenger beside him to stop shouting because he was reading.After the turbulence had subsided , she asked him as to how he could remain so calm in the face of the turbulence & he replied saying that he could not die before his time since he had not completed his assignment.(Courtesy Dr.Myles Munroe)
Human Beings must change their major contemporary focus from physical acquisitions & instead concentrate on spiritual acquisitions.We must go back to Prayer & Fasting ,Word Study, Witnessing & Sharing of the gospel & receive 'God's Word' for your life & nothing can stop you from fulfilling your assignment.Do not stop where you are beginning, or in the middle or just before you finish.Do not trade your assignment for anything that is not in God's will for your life.

In concluding I want to say that to be alive is to be in God's will & purpose for your life.Your success & prosperity in life is obedience to the WORD of the Lord.
